Paltalk Overview

Meet Paltalk, a privately held company based in New York. Paltalk offers Free IM software that provides standard IM features and also IM services that allow access to thousand video enabled chat rooms in which users. The users can interact one-on-one or with large groups of people simultaneously. Additional, PalTalk also integrate with other IM like AIM, Yahoo!, and ICQ.

The release of PalTalk 9.0 makes the IM features even better which they call it as "Super IM" enabling up to nine people to join in a live video and voice chat session.

PalTalk have over four million active members on their services and have hundreds of chat rooms categorized by topics such as religion, politics, and technology, with subcategories narrowing them down even further.

A new product called Screening Rooms was unveiled recently. Paltalk has developed a real-time online video chat service called "socialcasting". The Screening Rooms are the latest extension of this technology the users can create public or private video chat rooms where people can go to watch videos simultaneously interacting with each other.

Paltalk has agreements with several entertainers, most notably XM (XMSR) shock jocks Opera and Anthony, to let users watch live video streams of Opera and Anthony in their studio while they broadcast their show. Also produces original programs for its PaltalkScene platform including News Talk Online, Hollywood Now with Joanne Colan, LateNet with Ray Ellin, Dating Tips with Diana Falzone and MusicScene. The hosted shows feature notable celebrities, politicians, musicians and entertainers that are able to interact live with the viewers through video chat. Guests have included Stephen King, Slash, JoJo, Lonestar, Hank Azaria and casts of popular television shows and movies. Paltalk's original programs are considered by many as examples of socialcasting.

With now doubts Paltalk is converting into THE IM alternative.
